Description
EXP38 is D’Addario’s go-to 12-string acoustic set, built to deliver even volume and projection across all twelve strings without fighting the player for comfort. It’s tuned to work across virtually any make or model of 12-string acoustic.
- Phosphor bronze wrap wire gets a micro-thin EXP coating before it’s wound onto a hex-core, so the string keeps a genuine round-wound feel rather than the slick, muted texture some coated strings have.
- That coating acts as a shield against sweat, oils, and airborne grime — the usual culprits behind dull, dead strings — stretching tone life to roughly three to four times that of standard uncoated sets.
- NY Steel core wire, the same high-carbon steel used in D’Addario’s NYXL line, adds extra tensile strength and helps the set hold pitch more reliably under a 12-string’s added tension.
- Packaging is corrosion-resistant and designed with less waste, so strings stay protected and fresh until they’re on your guitar.
- Light gauge set: .010/.010, .014/.014, .023w/.008p, .030w/.012p, .039w/.018p, .047w/.027w.
Made in the USA by D’Addario, these give you a bright, warm, well-balanced acoustic voice with the longevity coating fans expect — without sacrificing the natural tone and feel of an uncoated phosphor bronze string.
