Description
Fender’s Original Pure Nickel 150 set revives the tone that defined the company’s earliest electric strings. Rather than the brighter, more aggressive edge of nickel-plated steel, these strings use a pure nickel wrap wire over the core, producing a rounder, softer top end and a fuller low-mid presence that many players associate with vintage Fender recordings.
Beyond the tonal character, pure nickel construction also has a practical benefit during play: it tends to run quieter under the fingers, cutting down on the squeaks and friction noise you get from sliding along the wound strings. Each set ships in Fender’s recognizable tweed-pattern packaging and comes finished with standard ball-ends for straightforward installation on most electric guitars.
This particular set is gauged .009-.042, sitting in the extra light-to-light range that’s comfortable for bending and fast playing while still keeping enough tension for solid intonation and sustain.
- Pure nickel wrap wire for a warm, smooth vintage tone
- Reduced finger and string noise compared to nickel-plated steel
- Ball-end design for easy restringing
- Classic Fender tweed packaging
- Gauge: .009-.042 (also available in extra light, light, regular, and medium sets)
