These strings are built around D’Addario’s NYXL formula, developed and produced at the company’s New York facility. A break-resistant, high-carbon steel core is combined with a reengineered wire-drawing method and a proprietary “fusion twist” process on the plain steels, resulting in noticeably tougher strings that resist snapping during aggressive bends or drop tunings. D’Addario reports up to 131% better tuning stability versus conventional strings, meaning less time retuning and more time playing.
The nickel-plated windings on the wound strings have been reformulated for stronger magnetic response, which translates into a hotter output and a boost in the 1–3.5 kHz range. Practically speaking, that means more midrange bite and presence, so your tone cuts through a mix instead of getting buried.
