Description
The D’Addario EXL110+ set fills a gap many guitarists don’t realize exists: the space between standard 10-gauge and 11-gauge strings. With a 10.5 high E anchoring the set through to a .048 low E, this Regular Light Plus configuration works well as a transitional step for players building up to heavier gauges, or as a way to develop stronger fretting-hand technique over time.
Beyond gauge progression, EXL110+ solves a practical problem for multi-guitar players. Tension feels different across scale lengths even when using identical gauges, so a guitarist running 10s on a 25.5″ scale instrument may find their shorter-scale guitars feel noticeably looser. Loading EXL110+ onto those shorter-scale instruments helps even out that discrepancy, keeping attack and feel more consistent from guitar to guitar.
Construction follows D’Addario’s proven nickel-wound formula: round wound nickel-plated steel over the wound strings delivers the bright, articulate tone electric players expect, paired with plain steel trebles for snap and clarity. Every set ships in corrosion-resistant packaging to keep strings fresh until they’re on the guitar, and manufacturing takes place entirely in the U.S.A.
