NYXL strings are built around a reinvented wire drawing process and a proprietary “fusion twist” technique applied to the plain steel wire. Together, these changes give the string more break resistance and up to 131% better tuning stability than a conventional nickel wound string, so it settles in quickly and holds pitch through aggressive playing.
The reformulated nickel winding also carries stronger magnetic properties than standard nickel wound strings, pushing output higher and boosting mid-range response in the 1-3.5 kHz range. That translates to more presence and crunch on the strings that need to cut through a mix, without sacrificing the feel and flexibility players expect for bending.
