Description
Old Strats develop their voice through parts that most players never think about — the tremolo springs and bridge saddles tucked out of sight. When those components wear out, swapping them for generic modern replacements often changes the very tone you’re trying to preserve. RAW VINTAGE built this bundle to solve that problem.
The RVTS-1 spring set was engineered by studying the tension characteristics of original 50s and 60s Stratocaster springs, which run softer and heavier than most current production springs. Used as a set of five (the recommended configuration), they restore the vintage torque feel and stable arming response that give a pre-CBS Strat its fat, rounded sound. Because they’re designed to work in this five-spring arrangement, they’re also a straightforward drop-in for reissue tremolo systems.
The saddles included here are the RVS-112 Pure Steel Saddles, a six-piece set milled to 11.2mm (0.441 in.) on the Fender USA pitch. Rather than using copper cores under nickel plating like many modern saddles — a combination that changes hardness and, ultimately, tone — RAW VINTAGE reverse-engineered the metallurgy of genuine 1950s steel saddles and plates nickel directly onto steel. The result is a saddle that behaves and resonates like the real vintage part, not an approximation of it.
Rounding out the bundle is a set of Ernie Ball strings, giving you everything needed to bring a relic’d, reissue, or aging original Stratocaster back to a cohesive, authentic voice in one order.
